How long did YOU spend queuing for the Banksy vs Bristol Museum show?

by banksy on July 25, 2010

And how far did you travel to get there?
There have been massive queues there since about the third week it was open. The ice cream van parked up by the queue in University Road is doing good trade. They’ve extended the opening hours for the show and it’s open late on Wednesdays. It’s going to be really intense as it gets towards the end of August!
And now, extended opening this Saturday and the Bank Holiday weekend. People are queuing for longer AND spending longer in there. It must be very hot and sweaty in there – it was when I saw the show in July. The museum is usually a cool and relaxing place. Usually I go there quite frequently to have coffee and cake at the cafe, and peek at one or two exhibits. The dinosaur bones upstairs are good and the modern art section is excellent.

I queued for 2 hours 15 minutes on a weekday and apparently later in the day the wait had gone up to 3 hours! It was worth the wait though. I bet that ice cream van man is happy!

I went today and got to the queue for 9 when it opens at 10 and were in the museum by 12, so 1 hour stood still and 2 hours in a quick moving queue.
